Eric is dedicated to the art of Musical Theatre and finds immense joy working with individuals who share the same passion. Ignited by the fusion of singing, dancing and acting, Mr. Young loves to find the true essence of performers striving to have a deeper sense of self and character. Eric guides students through effective techniques that enhance their love for the art of performance while engaging the tools needed to maintain consistent and confident presentations. He offers students ways to develop a connection to the material and suggests ways to support technical advancement while maintaining their health and professionalism.
Working In The Entertainment Industry Lecture
Eric shares his experience in the industry as an Artist, Producer and Creative. His experiences ranging from Broadway to Carnegie Hall, Cy Coleman to Stephen Sondheim, and Ann Reinking to Graciela Daniele ignite the conversation. This is an interactive lecture where Q & A has proven to be very successful.
Musical Theater Workshop I
This Master Class concentrates on Vocalists and their ability to tell a story through song. Eric works one on one with a selected group of individuals and coaches them on interpretation, style, execution and vocal technique.
Musical Theater Workshop II
Mr. Young incorporates dance with song in this intensive and collaborative class. EJY teaches dance combinations from some of his favorite productions that he has either performed in and/or choreographed. Students will learn a dance combination following a quick warm-up. Eric will teach original choreography from CHICAGO, SEUSSICAL the Musical, THE LOOK OF LOVE and many more. Mr. Young breaks down the choreography and focuses on the style, execution, physical interpretation and storytelling through the selected dance sequences. This class is full of energy and supports dancers from Beginners to Advanced.
Audition Workshop
Students follow the protocol of a professional audition in front of the class. This mock styled interview gives students the opportunity to execute an audition in a safe and supportive environment. Once completed, Eric discusses ways to help finesse the students’ performance by offering tips and suggestions on how to audition to the best of their ability.
